Hoodia Gordonii - Some Essential Questions And Answers
I know that as you've done your research on hoodia gordonii you've visited man a FAQ page. I know I did. At some point the process just became tedious. So, before you go any further, I've done a little homework so that you don't have to.
I visited a bunch of different hoodia FAQ pages and compiled a list of what I found to be the most commonly asked questions. Here's what I found.
- “What is hoodia gordonii?”
This is easily the most common question. In fact, it's the king of hoodia questions. But that's okay. If I didn't already know what hoodia is I'd say it sounds like some kind Italian dish. But, it's not. It's a South African plant that has an ingredient that mimics glucose and makes your brain think that you're not hungry, allowing you to not only eat less, but take greater control of your diet by preventing binge and emotional overeating.
- “How do I know I'm buying authentic hoodia?”
Huh? As opposed to fake hoodia? Nobody ever questions chocolate. Why are we questioning a cactus? Two reasons: First, because only a small part of the hoodia plant contains the ingredient you want. Other pieces like the flower, stem, leaves, and skin do you no good, but that won't stop unscrupulous manufacturers from tossing them into the recipe and telling you that you're buying “authentic” hoodia. Technically, they're not lying. But they're actually helping you either. When you buy hoodia gordonii, look for a ratio on the package (typically 10:1). That tells you how many plants it took to get enough of the right ingredient to make one capsule. Second, only hoodia gordonii contains the special ingredient that helps control your hunger. None of the other plants in the hoodia family have it. You may be buying hoodia , but if you're not buying hoodia gordonii then you're wasting your money.
- “What is CITES certification?”
Hoodia gordonii is found only in South Africa and because of its popularity has become strictly regulated by the government. You have to get permission to farm and export hoodia. A CITES certificate is evidence of having that permission. What this means to you is that any company without a CITES certificate is most likely not using “authentic” hoodia.
There you have them. The most common hoodia questions with the most common answers. Good luck and good health! |
